Vibrant Neighborhoods Tustin is an urbanism advocacy group founded in 2025 in our hometown of Tustin, California.
Whether it’s pushing for upgrades to pedestrian and bike infrastructure, supporting mixed-use and walkable housing development, or fighting against urban sprawl, we think everyone deserves a safer, more equitable Tustin.
Building cities with people in mind, not just cars leads to increased green spaces, economic growth, better access to city services, and an overall higher quality of life.
We are under the umbrella group Orange County for People-Oriented Places (OCPOP), combining our efforts at the county level when possible.
Here are just a few of the many ways we advocate for our city:
- Monitor City Council, Public Works, and other important city meetings for opportunities to give public comments.
- Build relationships with local businesses and decision-makers, focusing on education and coalition building.
- Host monthly meetings to collaborate on ways we can advocate as a group. Our most recent meeting included a Tustin City Council member.
- Future plans include a family friendly bike ride club, getting bike racks installed in Old Town, building an interactive map of Tustin, and putting together a bike infrastructure plan for the city’s upcoming Bicycle Master Plan.
You don’t have to be an expert in urban planning to get involved. You don’t even have to be a Tustin resident. We have members from Tustin, North Tustin, Orange, Santa Ana, and more. Whether you care about pedestrian improvements, better bike routes, vehicle safety, housing, or just better public spaces, you are welcome here!
